JJ MARINE has been involved with the Namibian Fishing
Industry for a number of years. In 1996, in recognition of our expertise
in this area, we received acceptance from the Namibian Government (Department
of Maritime Affairs in the Ministry of Works Transport and Communication)
as radio surveyors for Namibian vessels in Luderitz and all ports outside
Namibia and have been reviewed and accepted every year since. We now
have a branch in Walvis Bay.
We are the only company outside Namibian borders to
have been given this acceptance. We are involved with the drafting and
updating of the Namibian Radio Regulations.
Our client base includes the Namibian Fishing and
Marine Diamond industry.
The new regulations affecting Namibian flag vessels
mean that all vessels will eventually have to fit GMDSS equipment. The
timing of this requirement depends on the size and the operational areas
of the vessel. These regulations also apply to foreign flag vessels
owned, chartered or operated by Namibian companies. Further information
